In his role, Ben advises the City Administrative Officer (CAO) on various policy matters and oversees the development and monitoring of the City’s $10bn budget. Ben’s areas of expertise include revenue forecasting, pensions, information technology services, risk management, and debt management. Ben is also the CAO’s executive lead on the Los Angeles Convention Center Expansion Project and on the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In Ben’s 20 years of public sector experience, he has served in several management and leadership positions for the City of Los Angeles and the County of Los Angeles with an emphasis on fiscal stewardship including as Deputy Mayor of Budget and Finance under Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Ben has a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and a Masters of Public Policy from the Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California at Berkeley.
